Xymax’s Office Building Awarded a Sustainable Building Certificate

Xymax Tameikesanno Building, owned by Xymax Corporation, has been awarded a certificate based on SMBC Sustainable Building Assessment Loan.

SMBC Sustainable Building Assessment Loan

In order to encourage companies to have environmentally sustainable buildings, a financial institution Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation established original assessment standards to provide loans based on the assessment result. The assessment is designed and operated by the leading green building promoter CSR Design & Landscape Co., Ltd. The building owned or to be constructed by a company is assessed based on its environmental quality (energy use, water supply/drainage, and building materials), seismic adequacy, and risk management including business continuity plan (BCP) and business continuity management (BCM). The corporate policy and effort to achieve the above are also being assessed.

Assessment Result and Award

Xymax Tameikesanno Building has been awarded the Silver Level certificate. The corporate policy and effort, energy use, air conditions, environment inside the building, and risk management were given high marks.

In particular:

  1. 1. In terms of environment-friendly operation, use of energy and disposal of garbage are carried out with high efficiency.
  2. 2. The building renovation in 2011 replaced curtain walls and installed more efficient individual air conditioning system, which cleared the energy-saving requirements set by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
  3. 3. Some floors are operated 24 hours, but even so, careful control of the energy use achieved very high efficiency.
  4. 4. The inside of the building has good environment including secondhand smoke protection, heat and noise control, and great view from the window.
  5. 5. Risk of natural disaster is appropriately recognized by the company. Storage battery and drinking water for emergency are properly stored for BCP and BCM.

Xymax Corporation continues to pursue environmentally sustainable buildings through scientific studies based on our wide-range of building management data.
